Flag Disposal

Flag Day is celebrated on June 14th and many families proudly present the American Flag on their homes on very special National  Holidays. Over time, “Old  Glory” can become faded, tattered, and worn out. Properly disposing of a “tired” flag can be an issue. The Knights of Columbus is one of the few organizations authorized to properly dispose of an American Flag.

In honor of Flag Day, on June 16th and 17th, at all Masses, our Knights of Columbus Council 16612 will be celebrating this holiday by offering an opportunity for you to drop off your well used and tattered flags. We will have a collection facility available at each mass on this weekend manned by one of our Brother Knights. At the conclusion of the weekend, all flags will be turned over to our Fourth Degree Team for proper recognition and respectful disposal. This is a wonderful opportunity to pay respect to the flag which we love and respect.
