Our parish Altar Society provides essential services assuring that our altar and associated facilities are presented and maintained with dignity and decor in honor of the glory of their functions.
Activities: The Altar Society provides cleaning service for the main sanctuary, the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, the sacristies, and maintains orderliness in the narthex. The Altar Society cleans, launders, repairs and replaces vestments, altar linens, and altar appointments as needed. We also provide appropriate flowers for liturgical services and assist with the preparation of the church for special events such as those associated with Christmas, Easter, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.
Membership: Any St. John's parishioner is welcome to join the Altar Society. There are no dues or formal meetings. Funds required providing the material services outlined above are obtained from semi-annual special collections at all Masses on the specified weekends. Offertory envelope packets include special envelopes for appropriate months. By mutual agreement, one member functions as Treasurer.
